2-Hour Wheel Throwing Masterclass

Curious about trying the pottery wheel? Join me for a two-hour throwing taster session, perfect for beginners or anyone wanting a fun, hands-on introduction to wheel throwing. By the end, you’ll have some beautiful handmade ceramics to take home (or glaze yourself later).

What You’ll Learn & Do

Quick demonstration of the basics of wheel throwing
Hands-on practice centering clay, shaping cylinders, and forming bowls
Make 2–4 items on the wheel during the session (2 included in the price; additional items £5 per firing)
Receive personal guidance in a relaxed, supportive environment

All you need to bring are trimmed nails and enthusiasm! Wear clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting a little messy — aprons are provided.

Glazing Options

I’ll glaze for you: Choose a food-safe transparent glaze and I’ll take care of the firing
Glaze yourself: Optional self-directed glazing session using colourful brush-on glazes, oxides, and underglazes £25pp
- Glazing sessions are usually booked 5 weeks after your initial course to allow your pots to dry and be bisque fired
- I’ll be on hand to explain the process and offer guidance

After the class, your items will stay with me for approximately 6–8 weeks while they are fired and glazed. Collection and postage information is provided on request.

I can only keep your work for a maximum of two months after collection emails have been sent due to limited studio space, so please arrange collections or postage promptly.
