About me

Hello! I’m Chloe, I am a Potter based in Devon and I have been working with clay for just over 6 years. I was first introduced to ceramics by my dear friend, PottyJoy. Before relocating back to Devon in February 2024 I spent 4 years in Bristol teaching, making and furthering my professional practice. I have extensive experience working with people with and without disabilities as well as working collaboratively with businesses and charities within the local community. I am passionate about making ceramics an accessible space for all to enjoy. I currently offer workshops at my studio in Exmouth as well as private parties & pop-up events across the South West, Make sure to head over to my workshops page to see what events I have coming up!

About my work

My work explores contrast between raw and glazed clay. All functional dinnerware is made with High Fired Stoneware Clay and Food Safe Glazes. I do not recommend using pieces in the oven or microwave but hot water from the kettle is more than fine to enjoy your morning cuppa! I also recommend hand washing all of your items to ensure gentle care is taken whilst cleaning.

I have recently started experimenting with natural glazes and local clay that I dig myself so there will be more on those pieces coming soon!

All of my work is also available for wholesale orders, please do get in touch for more details and pricing.

Meet the Studio - Potty & Clod

Nestled in the beautiful seaside town of Exmouth, Devon, Potty & Clod is a vibrant shared studio I run with Potty Joy (hence the name!). Here, creativity thrives—whether you’re shaping clay, experimenting with textures, or discovering the joy of ceramics for the first time.

About our space

Step inside and you’ll find a light, airy space designed to make everyone feel instantly at ease. The studio is cosy and intimate, with room for 8–10 people around a large wooden hand-building table — the heart of most workshops. This smaller class size isn’t just practical; it’s intentional. It allows for personalised teaching, tailored tuition, and a genuinely supportive atmosphere where no one gets lost in the crowd.

You’ll also find three pottery wheels, a dedicated wedging table, clay buckets, and shelves lined with students’ works-in-progress — and, during busy making seasons, some of my own freshly thrown pieces too. There are plenty of hand-building tools to explore, plus a small reclaim area where nothing goes to waste.

Located just down from Holy Trinity Church in Exmouth, the studio has a beautiful shopfront that feels welcoming, calm, and quietly creative. Whether you’re here for your very first go at clay or you’re diving deeper into developing your skills, the space is designed to help you relax, enjoy the process, and learn at your own pace.

It’s the perfect environment for workshops: bright, friendly, fully equipped, and intentionally small so that every person gets the attention and guidance they need to truly learn, experiment, and create.

What we do

  • Handbuilding Courses – Explore coil, slab, and pinch methods to create tactile, unique pieces.

  • One-Off Workshops – Perfect for a day of creative indulgence, a special gift experience, or just some mindful time with clay.

  • Special Projects & Commissions – Bespoke pieces or personalised ceramics brought to life with your ideas.

Our workshops are designed for all abilities, with class sizes kept small (3–8 participants) to ensure personalised tuition and a supportive, inspiring environment.
