Mid-week plans that actually feel good
Looking for something different to do on a Tuesday evening? Pottery at the Pub at The Old Fire Station, Topsham is the perfect mid-week plan: fun, social, and totally beginner-friendly.
Whether you’re catching up with friends, trying something you’ve always wanted to do, or simply enjoying a relaxed night out at the pub, these workshops are designed to be easy, enjoyable, and completely achievable in one session.
You’ll be guided step-by-step through a handbuilding pottery project while you enjoy drinks from the bar. No experience is needed — just bring yourself, your mates, and a willingness to get a little messy.
What Happens in the Workshop
These sessions run Tuesdays 7–9pm, making them the ideal mid-week wind down.
During the workshop you’ll:
learn simple handbuilding techniques
make a finished ceramic piece in one night
enjoy a relaxed, social atmosphere
leave with something you’ve made yourself
It’s the perfect way to spend a Tuesday evening — a creative night out that feels like a proper treat, without the effort of a big night out.
Want to take your pottery further?
If you love the pub workshops and want to continue learning, you can progress onto studio courses at Potty & Clod in Exmouth, including wheel throwing, handbuilding, and more advanced projects.
After the Workshop
Your pieces will stay with us to:
dry fully
be bisque fired
glazed with a food-safe transparent glaze
glaze fired
You’ll be contacted when your finished ceramics are ready to collect from Potty & Clod, Exmouth, usually around 6–8 weeks later.

Please arrive 5–10 minutes early to order drinks and get settled.
Drinks and food are available from the pub and are not included in the workshop price.
