Each Pottery at the Pub session focuses on one specific make, which changes throughout the year. Projects may include mugs, bowls, vases, serving pieces or seasonal creations.

You’ll be guided step by step through a range of ceramic handbuilding techniques, including:
Pinch
Coil
Slab building
Simple surface decoration
I’ll demonstrate each process before you have time to get stuck in and try things for yourself. Whether you’re an absolute beginner, keen to give something new a go, or have used clay before, this group class is designed to be relaxed and pressure-free.
Towards the end of the session, you’ll also have the opportunity to decorate your piece using coloured underglazes.

After the workshop, your creations will stay with me for approximately 6–8 weeks. During this time they will:
Fully dry
Be bisque fired in a kiln
Glazed in a food-safe transparent glaze
Glaze fired
Once complete, your finished pieces will be ready for collection.

These workshops take place at The Grapevine Brewhouse, Exmouth.Please arrive 5–10 minutes before the workshop start time to order drinks and get settled before the class begins.
Drinks and food are available to purchase directly from the venue and are not included in the workshop price.
Please ensure if you are eating you purchase food before or after the workshop, please do not consume food whilst taking part in the workshop.

What better way to spend an afternoon than getting creative whilst enjoying a pint or two at the pub?
Join me at The Grapevine Brewhouse for a relaxed 2-hour group pottery workshop, where you’ll create your own handmade ceramic piece in a friendly, social setting. These sessions are informal, welcoming and designed to be enjoyed alongside a drink or two.
Each workshop is run as a group class, with everyone working on the same project for that session. The specific piece you’ll be making will always be clearly stated when you book.
